Annual Town Election - June 16, 2020

Nomination Papers Are Available

Nomination Papers are available starting January 7, 2020 for the following positions to be elected at the Annual Town Election to be held on June 16, 2020:

                Select Board:                    One three-year term (expires June 2023)

                School Committee:           Three three-year terms (expires June 2023)

                Planning Board:                One four-year term (expires June 2024)

                                                          One five-year term (expires June 2025)

                Housing Authority:             One four-year term (expires June 2024)

                                                           One five-year term (expires June 2025)

In order to obtain nomination papers, interested registered voters in the Town of Longmeadow must appear in person before the Town Clerk, 20 Williams Street or send a notarized statement naming someone else to pick them up on their behalf.  Valid signatures from 50 registered voters in Longmeadow must sign the nomination papers in order to qualify to be on the ballot.

Nomination papers are available beginning January 7, 2020 and the deadline to obtain them will be no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2020.  The deadline to return the nomination papers will be no later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. If a Preliminary Election is necessary it would be held on April 28, 2020.

Campaign Finance Reports
All campaign finance reports required to be filed with the city or town shall be made available for viewing on the municipal website within 30 days after the filing deadline if the report discloses that a candidate or committee has received contributions or made expenditures in excess of $1,000 during a reporting period or incurred liabilities or acquired or disposed of assets in excess of $1,000 during a reporting period.
