Pay no attention to that fire-breathing dragon!  Wielding paintbrushes, brave art explorers journey into a fairy tale kingdom where fairies flit through rainbow skies and zany zombies roam the streets.  Encounter fantastical creatures, both spooky and sweet, while conjuring up bedazzling art:  Decorate wicked cool witch or wizard hats and sculpt clay witches or wizards on broomsticks!  Design colorful ceramic skulls inspired by Dia De Los Muertos and paint unicorn or dragon banks.  Craft monster t-shirts and create sparkling castles on canvases.  Make hand puppet mermaids, vampires, fairies, werewolves, or any creature you can imagine.  Using some very magical potions and spells (i.e. materials and techniques), art-venturers experience painting, drawing, sculpting, printmaking, stain glass, ceramics, fabric art and more.  Enchanting two and three-dimensional masterpieces are brought home each week.  Fun, fantasy-filled art-ventures!

Penguins and Polar Bears, Grades K-4

Embark upon a journey through the Arctic and Antarctic regions to learn about the captivating lives of penguins, polar bears, and other cold-weather creatures.  In this fun, art-packed series, art explorers equipped with a myriad of unique materials, tools, and techniques set out on an adventure across frozen tundras to discover life in and around the icy waters of the earths poles.  Sculpt clay polar bears and penguin reliefs.  Build sand castle light houses and create shimmery sea jellies out of recycled materials.  Paint sharks or fish on stretched canvases.  Design hats as colorful as the Northern Lights, make gyotaku fish print aprons, and transform plain t-shirts into oceans teeming with creatures.  Explore the art of decoupage, collage, stained glass and so much more while learning fun facts about endangered creatures and the importance of being kind to our earth and oceans.  Don't miss the Art-rageous fun!  Supervision will be provided from 2:45-3pm.

Superhero Art Explorers: Saving Planet Earth, Grades K-4

Superhero girls and boys soar off on a top-secret mission to save planet earth using the most important superpower of all: imagination!  Like powerpuffs and spider boys, well design our own superhero masks, shields, and capes to protect our secret identities, and even build superhero sidekicks to accompany us as we save the world.  Create recycled pots, build secret comic book boxes, and design colorful onomatopoeia drawings.  During these fun and resourceful art experiences, super art heroes create a variety of AMAZING and original works of art using natural, recycled and unconventional  art forms and techniques.  Color ceramic super hero banks and explore the art of printmaking while designing league of super art heroes, saving the Earth with exciting and environmentally conscious masterpieces.

Get ready to "Create some fun"!  Just for Fun Art-ventures lead children on an imaginary tour through the world's greatest art museums, inspiring creativity through exposure to the FUN-damentals or artists tools, techniques and art forms, many inspired by the masters.  Think O'Keefe, Kandinsky, Matisse, Chagall, Picasso and more.  But don't just admire these great works- decorate your home with masterpieces of your own!  Experience painting on stretched canvas, playing with clay, and coloring with oil pastels.  Create self-portraits, paint your dreams and make Cubist costumes.  Explore the art of mosaics, decoupage, and fiber collage.  Creatively educational, whimsical and unconventional, these art-ventures welcome children into a world of artistic wonder.  Children bring home beautiful masterpieces each week, sure to transform any home into a gallery!

Art-ventures Around the World, Grades K-4

Activities 


Art travelers go on a whirlwind tour of the world, traveling among different countries and cultures.  Create hot air balloon lanterns to take you up and away!  Each week we land somewhere in the world and create wicked cool cultural art using unique materials and artisans techniques.  In Puerto Rico we work with clay and make wacky vejigante masks.  We design with mosaics in Greece, make Tribal Rain Sticks in Australia and create Maracas in Brazil, just to name a few.  Fun facts about each country and culture, geography and art history are included.  The only thing kids need to pack i their imagination!  Supervision will be provided from 2:45-3pm.

Lions and Tigers and Pigs, Oh My! Grades K-4

Animals have been an important subject for artists all over the world since the beginning of time.  From ancient caves to the present day these magnificent creatures can be seen in paintings sculptures, ceramics, mosaic art, fabric design, masks and stained glass.  On a wild journey through the animal kingdom, art adventurers discover a multitude of kooky critters- as well as their own creativity while exploring various techniques, tools, textures and materials.  Stained glass giraffes, fabric dogs, ceramic elephants, wooden snakes, colorful dinosaurs, and clay lions with fluffy fiber manes.  These are just a few of the animals created during our cool and playful art excursions.  Fun facts about each creature are included and masterpieces go home each week.  A ROARING good time!

Art-ventures in the Rainforest, Grades K-4

Activities


Head off on a jungle art safari!  Art explorers trek through the rainforest, discovering the wondrous and rare creatures that call it home.  Journey into the world of parrots, jungle cats, snakes, red-eyed tree frogs, butterflies and more.  Experiment with whimsical and original art forms and techniques.  Build rock'n rain sticks, design and create.  Throughout the voyage art adventurers learn about the importance of saving the rainforest and pick up super artist survival skills like sculpting with clay, printmaking, painting, collage, and journaling.  They even make their own t-shirts using a unique and unusual heat-sealed fabric pastel technique.  Surprises and laughter round out this fun-filled art safari!

Magical Art Mystery Tour, Grades K-4

Abracadabra, Hocus Pocus, its magic and mystery with art as the focus!  Magical art Mystery tour draws children into a world of wonder, revealing unbelievable art tricks and inspiring out of the box creativity.  Experiment with new and mysterious mediums and discover surprising techniques to transform familiar materials into magical masterpieces.  Sculpt clay lizards and build lizard playgrounds out of sticky magic "nuudles".  Create colorful ceramic piggy banks, whimsical model magic and scratch art designs inspired by the artist Miro.  Wave wands over t-shirts to form magical designs using fabric printing inks and stir a few unexpected items into a "fluffy goop" potion.  Discover the secret ingredient that turns pencils into paints, black lines into circus elephants and torn paper into painted landscapes.  And so much more!  The results are totally "WOW".  And... voila... young art magicians bring home masterpieces each week.  Supervision is provided from 2:45-3pm
