The Longmeadow Parks and Recreation Dance Program caters to children who have an enthusiasm for movement and a love of dance. Students have the opportunity to learn ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern dance, acrobatics and lyrical. Many of the classes combine multiple forms of dance into one session. With 29 class options, students have every opportunity to find the class that is right for them! Serious dancers may opt for higher-level classes and or "company classes" which challenge them technically while maintaining an enjoyable learning environment. Students new to dance may enter beginning-level classes where they will have an enjoyable lesson while learning the basics imperative to developing a solid understanding of movement. Our dedicated dance staff would be glad to speak with you about placing your child for the 2008-2009 season.

Many of our students chose to dance with us from elementary school all the way through their senior year of high school. Classroom environments are supportive, informative, challenging and fun! Students who return year after year do so because of the strong bonds they form with the other students in their classes as well as with their teachers. Our program is recreational and our teachers strive to know their students as individuals to help them improve at their own pace. LPRD Dance Program is a wonderful opportunity for your child to dance in a non-competitive environment full of students who are not only here to learn but also to have fun!

Our program runs approx.26 weeks and commences in late April with a recital held at Longmeadow High School. See Class Dates '08-'09 for important class dates and recital information.
