  April Bergeron has been instructing Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Father/Daughter, Mother/Daughter, Preschool Dance Movement and Tumbling dance classes at Longmeadow Dance School for the past eight years. April co-instructs Longmeadow Dance Schools new Ensemble Dance Program for students who love to dance! April has been a dance instructor and choreographer in the areas of Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Acrobat, Jazz and Tap for the past twenty years. April directs and instructs all the morning Dance and Movement Programs for Preschoolers at Community House. She is the co-creator, co-director and instructor of the new Longmeadow Dance Convention and the Princess Ballet for a Day Program at Community House. Along with Ms. Jess, Ms April enjoys offering new dance events such as themed “Pajama Jams” to give our Longmeadow Dancers more opportunities to dance throughout the year.
April has an extensive background in Junior and Senior Company competitive dance choreography, receiving numerous high score awards including “Best Choreography” and “Highest Score” at dance competitions in New England throughout her career. April is continuously educating herself in dance. She continues to study at Broadway Dance Center in N.Y.C. She has enjoyed furthering her dance education by completing choreography workshops and master dance classes by: renowned tap dancer Al Gilbert, legendary jazz instructors, Charles Kelly, Frank Hachett and Sheila Barker, and Radio City Rockette Deborah Vega. April is an active member of Dance Caravan and the Professional Dance Teachers Association. She enjoyed 14 years as a dance instructor/preschool program director at Unity Dance Spectrum teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. While at Unity Dance Spectrum April was a member of the Advanced Production Company. Dancers under her study have received numerous awards, dance scholarships and honors including on screen movie roles, commercials and invitations to dance with college dance programs.
April has attained her BA in Education and her BS in Social Science from Westfield State College. Before the arrival of her first child, April taught Preschool for eight years at Greenwood Children’s Center in Longmeadow and later became their Assistant Director. April resides in Longmeadow with her husband Dan, their six year old daughter Ava Grace and three year old son Griffin Daniel.
