  Leah Harrington has been teaching with Longmeadow Dance School for the last four years. Dancing for over 30 years, her dance background includes acrobatics, ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip hop, lyrical, modern and ballroom. Leah currently teaches pointe, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, tap and junior company B.
Her extensive training background includes dancing with Carol Butler’s at multiple competitions, being one of the youngest ever company members at Pioneer Valley Ballet performing in such ballets as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Pineapple Poll, La Boutique Fantastique, along with various others. Leah has had the opportunity to work with world known choreographers such as Francis Perelli and Laurence Peterson. She also competed in extensive national competitions with Hackworth School of Performing Arts such as American Dance Awards and Dance Masters of America. Leah was awarded a scholarship to study with the Hartford Camerota Conservatory and St. Petersburg Ballet Company in Florida.
She has danced professionally with The Shoestring Dance Company, Pioneer Valley Ballet, Hackworth School of Performing Arts and Springfield Spirit Dance Team which she co-founded. Leah has been teaching dance with the Hackworth School of Performing Arts for over 18 years with company classes competing in national competitions. Prior to this she was the ballet mistress for CJ Studios and assistant director of Shoestring Dance Company’s Nutcracker.
Leah has held multiple roles in the Nutcracker and will be directing and producing the Nutcracker for Longmeadow Dance School again this year after two exciting past performances. Leah hopes to see everyone at Nutcracker auditions in the fall!
