Specialty Camps
As soon as you receive this brochure, you may begin the registration process! The Longmeadow Parks and Recreation offers half day and all day traditional camp experiences along with Specialty and Sports Camps options for your child. The Majority of our camp programs are licensed with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Longmeadow Board of Health. These camps are designated by the word Licensed next to the camp name. If a camp is not licensed it still complies with our strict guidelines for a safe and exceptional camp experience. Due to licensing requirements, you must submit for each child enrolled in our Camps, a Health Information form and a certificate of immunization (signed by a physician) with proof of Chicken Pox and Polio immunity. These forms are available at the time of registration and on-line at www.lprd.net. They must be completed and turned in at the time of registration. There is a 10% sibling discount offered for each camp that more than 1 child in a family participates in.
The Deadline to register for camps is the Wednesday prior to your session at 5pm to avoid a $10 late registration fee.
Due to the increasing number of children who have seasonal and food allergies, we ask that you plan your son or daughters lunches to not include peanut butter or any nut products in their sandwiches and snacks. Many children have severe food allergies and our goal is to have all children safe in our program and when these children come in contact with the foods that they are allergic to, then their life can be put in danger. Many things such as seasonal factors and bees, we cannot control so we depend upon parents to be vigilant in making sure that we do not put these children in harms way. Therefore Longmeadow Parks & Recreation Department is peanut, latex and tree nut free for all programs throughout the year, especially our summer camps. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office at 413.565.4166.
