Greenwood Children’s Center is now latex, peanut and tree nut free in response to the increase incidence of food allergies in children. Please plan accordingly and do not send snacks or lunch in with your child(ren) that contain any nut products. Thank-you for your cooperation and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the staff at Greenwood Children’s Center at 413.565.4163.

Don’t miss the fun to be had at Greenwood Park this summer! This will be a summer like none other in Longmeadow before. LPRD Day camps have received a face lift as to appeal to what you- our customers- have been asking for.

All day camps will meet at Greenwood Park this year so that all campers can enjoy and utilize the new additions to our summer programs. This will also alleviate transportation and dropping off and picking up your children at multiple sites. You will also notice at Greenwood Pool that there is a new splash pad for all to enjoy!

You may not recognize the titles of the camps this year. We have revamped every aspect of camp in order to create the most enjoyable atmosphere for all that attend. You will notice internal aspects of camp that have changed also. To provide an intimate camp setting, we will now view the Day Camp as one big camp with units separated by age. Each unit will be assigned their own counselors, and travel throughout the day to specials such as Sports, Art, and Drama, as well as swim lessons and free swim. Those who stay for Extended Camp will also enjoy another free swim. The day will end with an all-camp meeting where team spirit will be encouraged.

Kindergarten & 1st grade- Shooting Stars (meet in After School Room)
2nd & 3rd grade - Comets (meet at Greenwood Shed)
4th & 5th - Asteroids (meet at Greenwood Shed)
6th-8th grade - LIT (Leadership in Training - meet in 56 Club)
9th & 10th grade - CIT (Counselor in Training - meet in 56 Club)

Our 2009 Summer Day Camp Parent Handbook is available here. Please keep this handbook to use as a guide throughout the summer.

Due to these licensing requirements, you must submit for each child enrolled in our Camps, a Health Information form and a certificate of immunization (signed by a physician) with proof of Chicken Pox and Polio immunity. These forms are available at the time of registration and on-line at www.lprd.net. They must be completed and turned in prior to your child starting the camp program.
