If you are looking for a pleasant way to spend an afternoon and would like to explore areas in New England and New York that are just a few hours away, please consider traveling with LPRD. We are looking for the young at heart, no matter what age you are. Staff from Longmeadow Parks & Recreation Department will be your escort for the day. Where listed, many trips include dinner.
The Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall
Enjoy the splendor of the Holiday season by attending The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. We have tickets for the 1pm show at Radio City Music Hall. Seats are located in the Orchestra Section of the theatre. You get to plan your day and we provide the transportation and the venue. Visit a museum or finish your shopping while visiting the Big Apple. Enjoy the decorations or take in a festive holiday dinner before departing for home. Time in New York will be from approximately 10am-7pm.

Spring in New York City and 9/11 Memorial
Most people remember where they were when they heard the news of 9/11. Millions of people all across the country were affected in one way or another. Remember the thousands of innocent victims and the brave Police and Fire Personnel that came to their rescue only to become victims as well. Our trip in April will include time in New York City followed by a visit to the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero. Time in New York City will be from approximately 10am-7pm.

Father Daughter Valentines Ball

Mark your calendar for Longmeadows Annual Father Daughter Dance. Celebrate this special time in your daughter or granddaughters life. Dress up in your finest attire and bring that special lady in your life for an afternoon of music, dancing and refreshments. The Community House will be decorated for this event with lights and hearts and Jon ONeill will be on hand to play popular music for your dining and dancing pleasure. Please purchase your tickets early so that we can plan accordingly for the refreshments.

Nutcracker Night with Leah for Ages 5 & Up
Celebrate the season with this holiday classic themed event! Parents can enjoy a night out shopping for the holidays, relaxing or dining out while your child can enjoy dancing, beautiful costumes and a healthy snack before performing on the big stage! Parents are invited back at 7pm to watch the participants perform what they have learned. Our very own talented Leah Harrington is directing this event. Leah has been involved with several professional productions for LPRD. She brings over 30 years of dance experience and currently teaches ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip hop, lyrical, modern and company classes. Participants should come to the program dressed in leotard, tights and ballet or jazz shoes. Please bring a water bottle.

Fantasy Dance and Gymnastics Program for Ages 3-6
Our Fantasy Dance and Gymnastics Program is where Royal Princess's will learn the utmost in Princess Etiquette like...The Wave, The Curtsy, The Walk, and of course Pinkies Up. To add to the fun they will even enjoy tumbling, balance beam, and gymnastic bars for the perfect balance a young lady should have. Our ladies begin their day by dressing-up as a royals with crowns and scepters. Throughout the journey, the Princesses will enjoy a variety of Fairytale Activities, such as crafts, a Glamorous Fashion Show and song and dance routines. Each dancer/gymnast will get to make their very own Princess Sash and will receive a Glam Photo starring themselves. For the Grand Finale, the girls will be Crowned and become Certified Princesses. Participants must be potty trained to attend. Participants should wear leotard and skirt or shorts and ballet slippers. Please pack a daily snack, full water bottle and peanut free lunch. February Vacation Performance Workshop with Leah for Ages 5 & Up
Is your child looking for something to do over the February school vacation? Or does he or she just love to dance and perform in front of their peers? Leah Harrington will be offering a one day workshop focusing on dance routines and making show props and scenery. The workshop will culminate with a performance for family and friends at the Community House Auditorium. The theme for this workshop is Fairy Tales.
