Dance Classes
Dance Classes begin the week of Monday, September 19. Last dance class is Thursday, April 26 for Leah and Dianes Classes and May 3 for April and Jesss Classes.
The Dance Program meets for a total of 24-25 classes depending upon your childs age and their instructor.

Please note our best efforts are made to have all students only perform in one recital. A few students taking multiple classes may need to perform in both classes.

A 8 month payment plan is available through the Community House with a credit or debit card.
A $25 Costume Deposit for each number in the recital in addition to the class fee is due at the time of registration. Please note: Not all of April Bergerons morning preschool dance classes participate in the Recital therefore the ones that do will be assessed a costume deposit and the ones that do not will not be charged the fee.

Tip toe through a fun and educational dance experience. Children will have fun learning basic ballet, jazz and tumbling techniques while singing and dancing in this exciting class. Tumbling and Movement for Preschool Boys and Girls for Ages 3.5 & Up
Boys and girls will flip for this introductory tumbling and movement class. In this fun, high energy, structured environment tumblers will improve strength, balance, coordination, rhythm and flexibility. Our safe equipment including colorful gym mats, low beam, mini trampoline, tunnels, and props will be used each week. Children will enjoy our tumbling obstacle course while they develop spatial awareness and gross motor skills. This is a great class for preschoolers to burn energy in a safe, fun and educational environment. Children can take this class alone or in addition to other classes and activities. This class participates in one routine in the recital.

Ballet Classes
Ballet B/C for Grades 3 & 4
A great introduction to the basics of ballet during this 45 minute class. Dancers will experience barre work, stretches, moving across the floor and combinations of movements, all danced to classical music. Dancers will be encouraged to use their imaginations during free dance time which always incorporates props. Ballet B/C dancers should wear dance attire and pink ballet shoes. Includes one routine in recital.

Ballet D/E for Grades 5 & 6
A continuation of the basics begun in Ballet B/C, Ballet D/E is a lesson taught in one hour and combines levels D and E. Dancers will experience a traditional ballet class including barre work, center work, adagio and allegro combinations all set to classical music. Dancers will begin to solidify the classical vocabulary needed to excel in ballet. Dancers registered for Ballet D/E should come to class dressed in ballet clothing and pink ballet shoes. Ballet F for Grades 7 & Up
Dancers registered for Ballet F will spend time at the barre perfecting the basics of technique needed to excel in center work. They will begin to understand the traditional structure of a ballet class and increase their ballet vocabulary. Dancers in Ballet F are expected to come to class dressed in ballet attire with their hair securely pulled back off their face. Pink ballet shoes are required. Includes one routine in recital.

Beginning Pointe
Students in Beginning Pointe will spend the half hour after their ballet class working on basic Pointe work at the barre and in the centre. Students must have permission of the instructor and have completed pre-Pointe to register for this class. This class does not include a recital routine.

Acrobatics
Acrobatics for Grades 2 & Up
Dancers have fun in this energetic class for all levels that teaches participants the proper ways of doing handstands to handsprings. You will flip for this class! Leotards, footless or stirrup tights and bare feet are the way to arrive for this class. No bulky warm ups allowed. Participants may wear shorts over their leotards. Includes one routine in the recital.

Hip Hop Classes
Hip Hop A for Grades 1 & 2
Participants in this beginner level class learn all the latest funky moves. Combinations are broken down at a slow pace so you can dance like a professional Hip Hopper! Dancers should come dressed in loose fitting comfortable clothing that allows movement. Dancers will need black jazz sneakers. Includes one routine in the recital.

Modern & Contemporary/Lyrical Classes
Modern Dance for Grades 5 & Up
This 45 minute class is an exploration in modern dance basics and technique. Time will be spent learning floor warm ups, technique exercises and center combinations which focus on concepts such as contact and release, fall and recover and flow and space. Includes one routine in the recital.

This class for the intermediate level dancer emphasizes the connection between the story, music and dance while learning how to show expression through contemporary styles, and ballet and jazz technique. Participants should come to class dressed in leotard and suntan tights. Warm up wear is allowed. Students will need suntan jazz booties and tights. Includes one routine in the recital

Join us for a beautiful ballet class followed by high energy jazz. Children will begin class by exploring ballet vocabulary while warming up their bodies from head to toe. Dancers will be introduced to barre, basic ballet technique and movement across the floor while dancing to upbeat and classical ballet tunes. Dancers will learn all styles of jazz including street funk, Broadway and of course hip hop! Class begins with high energy funky warm ups, followed by center and across the floor technique and combination routines. Students should come to class in leotards, tights, dance warm ups or skirts and have black jazz oxfords and pink ballet shoes. Includes two routines in the recital

Ensemble Jazz/ Tap/Ballet A/ B/C for Grades 1 thru 4
Ensemble is designed for the dancer looking to further develop their dance education in a positive encouraging environment. Dancers will improve their technique and performance abilities in this extraordinary high level jazz, super fun tap and beautiful ballet class. Ensemble dancers will have a blast as they challenge abilities, gain confidence and get a great workout in this non-competitive 90 minute class. Students should come to class in leotards, tights, dance warm ups and have black jazz oxfords and black tap shoes in oxford material and pink ballet shoes. Zumbatomic for Boys and Girls Ages 4 thru 10
Come feel the music and join the party with Zumba for Kids! Zumbatomic is a dance/fitness class that teaches kid friendly versions of Latin dance styles like cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton and hip hop. Ms. Jess will lead the class through a workout in disguise with fun and simple movements to motivating and energizing music just for kids. Participants should wear any type of athletic clothing with sneakers. Be sure to bring a water bottle, because we burn off a lot of energy! Its fun, its different, its Zumba! Company Classes
Senior Company by Invitation Only
A two hour class in which students will focus on Ballet, Modern dance and Jazz dance. Students enrolled in High School Company have the option of studying tap dance-we will discuss this and decide on it as a group at the beginning of the dance year. This class will emphasize cleaning technical skills while working on basic exercises to improve the technique the girls already have. Primarily a repertory class, girls enrolled in High School Company will focus on learning sequences of movement and building on them week by week. Participants are expected to be dressed in dance attire. Suntan jazz shoes and pink ballet shoes are required. Girls enrolled in Senior Company are encouraged to be enrolled in Ballet F. Permission of instructor is required for admission to this class. This class contains four dances in the recital.

Middle School Company by Invitation Only
A two hour class in which students will begin with modern dance and then move on to combinations in both Jazz, Tap and Ballet techniques. This class is repertory based and students will focus on retaining longer sequences of movement while improving their skills. Dance attire is required and includes black tap shoes, suntan jazz shoes and pink ballet slipper. Girls enrolled in this class are required to be enrolled in an additional Ballet class.. Permission of instructor is required for admission to this class. This class performs in four recital dances.

Dance attire is required and includes black tap shoes, suntan jazz shoes and pink ballet slippers. Girls enrolled in this class are encouraged to enroll in an additional Ballet class. Permission of instructor is required for admission to this class. This class performs in three recital dances.

Dancers will experience basic barre, dancing in place and dancing across the floor. Dancers wear a leotard and tights, any color and style and bring pink ballet slippers to class with them. Participants will need to have black tap shoes with them beginning in December. This class participates in two routines in the recital.
