Tennis Participation is growing across the nation! According to the SMA 2006 Super study, tennis is the only traditional sport to grow in the past 5 years! In 2005, Longmeadow Parks and Recreation was awarded the designation “Tennis Welcome Center” by the United States Tennis Association. The USTA is currently developing strategic plans to further connect with new and lapsed players through increased promotion and positioning of the sport as fun, social, healthy, inclusive, accessible and affordable. The Longmeadow Parks and Recreation Department offers a number of the finest tennis courts and tennis programs throughout Western Massachusetts. Courts are open seven days a week from dawn to dusk (8:00pm) to the public free of charge when not in use for instructional programs. The lighted Blinn Courts are open until 11:00pm.

Two hardcover courts located at 231 Maple Road

New! Pioneer Valley Beginner Tennis League
Have fun and get fit as ages 19+ can play against teams from other PV towns such as Agawam, Springfield, East Longmeadow and Chicopee. If you played tennis in high school or have taken at least some beginner tennis lessons, this league is the perfect fit! Five to ten players are needed to play Singles, 1st Doubles and 2nd Doubles matches. Post-season divisional play is optional. League runs on Monday evenings from Mid-May through Mid-September. Start date to be announced.

Cardio Tennis
Get your hearts pumping in this 4-week fitness program that is a fun group activity, with non-stop action! Get your heart rate into your cardio zone and burn more calories while improving your tennis skills. It’s a total body workout taught by trained professionals! The one hour program includes a warm up (dynamic stretching, cardio workout and cool down session). Instruction is offered by the professionals of Enfield Tennis Club. Summer Tennis Lessons- Learn to Rally and Play
Longmeadow Parks and Recreation work in conjunction with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to offer high quality and affordable tennis lesson. Currently, nearly 25 million Americans play tennis and the sport is at the highest participation level in 13 years! Over 5.5 million Americans played tennis for the first time in 2005, and our goal is to increase that number in 2008.

Participants will be divided into beginning, intermediate and advanced groups.
