S.A.F.L. Cheerleading Program

Girls and boys currently in grades 2-7 are eligible for the fall 2007 Program. Practices will begin in early August and will be in preparation for Saturday and Sunday football games through September and October. Cheerleaders will also attend an area Exhibition in November and all participants are asked to take part in fundraisers. Cheerleaders will be required to purchase approximately $170 of personal gear and a $50 participation fee.

Mandatory Parent Informational Meeting: Thursday, 5/3 from 6-7pm at Community House. All parents are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Uniform sizing: Thursday 6/7 from 6-8pm at Community House

Mandatory practices: Tuesday and Wednesday, 6/5-6/6 from 6-8pm

Fall Youth Soccer League - Sponsored

This popular program, with over 1,400 participants last year will run from September through November. Kids in grades Kindergarten - 8 are eligible. Practices one weekday or Saturday each week with games on Sundays. Optional travel teams play on Saturdays and Sundays. Uniforms are provided.

Youth In-Town & Traveling Basketball Leagues - Sponsored

Instructional program with boys and girls divisions for players in grades 1-8. Everyone makes a team. Teams are comprised by combining grades as follows: 1st/2nd grade teams will meet once a week for a session consisting of ½ hour practice and ½ hour game; 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th grade teams will have 1 practice and one game per week with referees at each game. Program emphasizes basketball fundamentals and teamwork. Anyone interested in coaching should sign up during registration. All coaches will be trained and certified. Program runs mid-November through March with practices and games at Longmeadow school gyms. Optional travel teams are available for players in 3rd – 8th grade for an additional fee. Travel players are determined through an independent evaluation to be held in late October. More information will be available at registration nights.

Fee: 1st/2nd grade players: $55
3rd-8th grade players: $75
Family maximum: $185 (registration fee only – does not apply to travel fees)

Registration nights at the Community House:
September 26: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
October 3: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
October 10: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
*Late enrollments can be dropped off at the LPRD office during regular office hours beginning 10/11.
**Please note that a late fee of $25 per child will be charged for all sign-ups after October 17.

Evaluations for travel teams will be held
Monday through Friday, Oct. 22 - 26, and Monday, Oct. 29
